Proverbs 1:8-9
My son, listen to your father’s advice.
Don’t turn away from your mother’s teaching.

What they teach you will be like a beautiful crown on your head.
It will be like a chain to decorate your neck.
It makes good sense for our children to listen to our instruction. After all, we know better (at least most of the time). We've been there, done that, and got the T-shirt.
As I look back over my childhood, there is advice that my father gave me and things my mother taught me that I still carry with me today. I hope the lessons that my children learn in our home will be something that they will be grateful for, if not now, than in the future.
